What Does the following MRI Report Indicate?

spinal disc surgery MRI test Result Low backache(Right Sciatica) Report Sagittal and axial T1W, T2W and sagittal STIR sequence acquired through lumbosacral spine there is straightening of spine the disks are dehydrated modic type I,II&III marrow degenerative changes are seen along adjacent endplates of L4andL5 hemangiomas are present in T12, L1,L2 and L3 vertebrae.Rest of vertebrae show normal marrow signal.Normal vertebral heights. L3/4 disk shows diffuse bulge with ligamentum flavae thickening / facets hypertrophy minimally compromsing thecal sac with compromise of inferior foraminal recesses. L4/5 disk shows central herniation with ligamentum flavae thickening / facets hypertrophy moderately compromsing thecal sac with compromise of exciting nerve roots and inferior foraminal recesses. L5/S1 disk shows extrusion and inferior extension behind superior part of body of S1 with ligamentum flavae thickening / facets hypertrophy severly compromising thecal sac and right S1 exiting nerve root besides compromise of bilateral inferior foraminal recesses. Conus medularis is normal.

Hello,

According to the MRI results, it means that your vertebrae and their heights are damaged and as a result the nerves are compromised and causes chronic pain. You should consult a neurologist specialist if the pain is severe.
